Case Study Cisco Public Results Reigning in malware infections Stone recalls how malware remediation used to consume all of Cape Air's network technicians' time. "Before Umbrella, I had three technicians working 40 hours a week, and all they did for a year was fix malware infections and reimage computers, shipping them from Hyannis, Massachusetts, all over the world," Stone recalls. "Thankfully, those days are gone. Now we have zero, or rarely one, malware infection. I don't remember the last time something got through Cisco Umbrella within the last year or two." Blocking threats before they reach the network, endpoints, and end users, Umbrella enables even small IT teams to monitor and respond to threats effectively. Thanks to Umbrella, Cape Air has drastically reduced the downtime that negatively impacted the passenger experience. Additionally, the airline reduced risk by implementing granular policy enforcement and blocking malicious and unwanted websites for employees and guests. S tone continues, "After deploying Umbrella, we were able to reduce malware infections by more than 90% and the airline has not experienced any security incidents." The Cape Air network team can now focus on other priorities, including implementing strategic initiatives and security awareness programs for employees. Equally important, Cisco Umbrella helps Cape Air avoid security-related disruption to the passenger experience. Stone says, "The biggest business outcome of Umbrella is happy customers who want to come back and fly with us again." "After deploying Umbrella, we were able to reduce malware infections by more than 90% and the airline has not experienced any security incidents."
