Matthew Wilson, National Director, Security & Compliance Services for Core
Business Technology Solutions, has never forgotten the RSA Conference
2012 keynote address, in which then-director of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation Robert S. Mueller famously warned that hacking "is no longer a
question of 'if,' but 'when" and 'how often'" before classifying all companies
as "those that have been hacked and those that will be."
To Wilson and his 300+ colleagues distributed among Core's 15 locations,
those words represent the point at which the IT industry's long-running
conversation around information security reached critical mass.
"The FBI's assertion that everyone will eventually be attacked brought into
sharper relief the potential perils of a security incident and provided an
opening to revisit security with our clients," says Wilson.
